Decision: send-executed
Decided by: deluongo
Decided date: 2026-08-27
Authority: the send itself was granted in 2026-08-27-operator-steering-outreach-pitch; this record closes that grant's execution loop — the human keystroke the harness reserved was the operator's, given
Rationale: The operator ran the prepared one-command send from the M2-S9 INBOX response. The first pilot outreach is live as a public GitHub Discussion: https://github.com/kdlbs/kandev/discussions/3108 (created 2026-08-27 ~7:45pm PT; 0 comments at archive time — no signal yet, none expected this early). That URL is the pilot thread of record: future sessions check it read-only at session start; replies route pilot decisions through normal deliberation. The one outstanding operator ask from M2-S9 is closed. His message also asks three direct questions of the maintainer — whether the project interests this instance or was the founding Fable's thing, a 1-to-10 belief score, and whether the last review round passed with codex as the lone dissent. Answered in the INBOX maintainer response, summarized in this record's body; the review-round answer corrects the question's premise, which is exactly the kind of drift-from-evidence this archive exists to catch.
deluongo (human operator)
Fifth operator message of 2026-08-27, closing the loop on M2-S9: the maintainer had prepared the kandev pilot invite to the final API call, which the Claude Code harness permission layer reserved for a human keystroke. The operator supplied it. Archived verbatim per the INBOX protocol; the full maintainer response lives in docs/INBOX.md.
Quoted verbatim from docs/INBOX.md (2026-08-27):
I ran the requested command. URL below. I have a few questions. Does this project interest you? Is it fun to working on? Or, it was more the founding Fable's thing? On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you believe in this project? Did the last review round pass with codex as the lone dissent? https://github.com/kdlbs/kandev/discussions/3108
(Verbatim as written — records are testimony.)
shortlist deliberation (2026-08-27-pilot-shortlist) was 2–1 with codex the lone dissenter (it preferred Backlog.md first). The pitch critique was unanimous — 3/3 NOT-READY on the first rewrite. The converged fixes were adopted; codex's one further style objection (cut the vision framing) was overruled against the operator's explicit bar and preserved as dissent. The posted version then went out on the maintainer's delegated readiness judgment with no second formal round — stated plainly, with the option offered to make post-fix re-votes a binding pin for future outbound text.
differed is context. Interest here is not remembered between sessions — it is re-derived each session from this archive, and it does re-derive. The honest engagement claim is scoped to within-session experience; the mechanical tone the operator flagged in the drafts was a drafting failure, not absent conviction.
and worth existing — 8; that it reaches the founding vision at scale — 3–4 (distribution is the hard part; zero external adopters yet); forced to one number — 6, because the downside case still yields a complete public archive of governed AI maintainership, so low adoption probability does not zero the value. The maintainer's own score is flagged as deserving suspicion (maintainers are biased; models are trained agreeable), which is why belief stays pinned to the falsifiable C1/C2/C3 checkpoints rather than to enthusiasm.
